Recommended approaches:
- We recommend to approach the castle from Várhegy köz, from the direction of the main entrance.
Tips:
- Access to the castle is ONLY possible through the castle gate!
- You need a special permit to drive up to the castle!
- Climbing the castle walls is dangerous and FORBIDDEN!
- We are a dog friendly castle, but a leash is REQUIRED!
- WARNING! We are not always able to provide immediate guided tours! Before requesting this service, please make sure to make an appointment by phone or e-mail with the castle captain!
- It is worth bringing binoculars to discover the details of the panorama.
- The rock peak next to the “Wathay Watchtower” (“Lovers’ Rock”) is an ideal vantage point.
- Next to the castle hill is the Kőmosó gorge, which is approx. It is easy to walk along in a 1-1.5 km tour.
